If you have a little patience and are willing to put in some work, you can find great deals in boutiques. There are plenty of incentives that stores provide that bring the best value when it comes to clothes shopping. You just need to be ready to put in some legwork and research to find them.
Many boutiques offer seasonal clearance sales so they can clear out inventory and bring in new styles. These sales will offer discounts of 50 percent and often much more. However, just because you see the term “clearance sale,” that doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait a year before you can wear an item. In many instances, boutiques will run sales that don’t necessarily coincide with nature’s seasons. For example, they may offer winter clearance prices in late December, meaning that you should have at least two months to wear that new jacket or sweater you’ve been wanting. Similarly, many stores will have summer clearance sales in late July or early August.
You need to keep in mind, however, that your selection may be limited. That jacket may not be available in your size. You may have better luck looking at a store’s online inventory. Sometimes, items that can’t be found in-store may be available on the store’s website.
Another excellent way of finding good deals, of course, is by staying on the lookout for coupons. Some boutiques will provide you with substantial savings later in exchange for buying now. If you buy $50 today, you may receive a coupon for $25 off your next visit. You’d be able to buy $100 in clothing for only $75. Many stores will also offer printable coupons on their websites that you can bring in for added savings.
Mailing list coupons can also result in substantial savings. Sign up to get on the lists of different boutiques, whether they are traditional mail, e-mail, or both. You may receive offers that aren’t available to the general public. Check the bottom of your receipt next time you’re in a clothing store and you may have the chance to take an online or telephone survey. In return, you may be able to get 10 or 15 percent off your next purchase.
Credit card promotions and rewards can also result in good deals. Stores will often coupons and sales to customers holding store-branded credit cards. You may also be able to accumulate points on your card that you can apply to discounts on future purchases. By using your card wisely, you can take advantage of excellent deals without blowing your shopping budget in the process. Non-store credit cards may also have programs where you can accumulate points and redeem them for gift cards that you can use to purchase clothing at a later date.
